AAJA’s Muslim American Task Force (MATF) seeks volunteers for its following committees:
The Guidelines Committee, spearheaded by Fauzeya Rahman, will maintain a series of resources for journalists who wish to report on Muslim issues, including a style guide.
The Partnerships Committee, spearheaded by Waliya Lari, seeks to form alliances with various think tanks, community organizations and nonprofits to ensure Muslims and Muslim Americans have the proper resources to reach out to journalists, and vice versa.
The Sources Committee, spearheaded by Yousuf Fahimuddin, seeks to create a database of sources that goes beyond traditional Muslim texts and taps different Muslim community leaders for a broader range of experts for Muslim-focused stories.
To apply, email Nuran Alteir (nalteir.freelance@gmail.com) by Friday, April 13, along with a 150-word statement outlining your interest in MATF and the committee(s) you would like to be a part of.
